200 episodes of The 505 Podcast. This one's straight from the heart and I want to reflect on what 200 episodes has taught me about life.

First off, we would have never made it this far if it wasn't for you reading this thing. I would like to think that the few thousand rocks who consistently read these newsletters are the biggest rocks of them all. you are apart of the boulders who keep the lights on around here. so thank you!!

without you none of this would be possible.

I still remember the first episode we ever recorded like it was yesterday. That photo above is a screenshot of the title card for that first ep. sure does look like sh*t and we didn't even have 3 matching mics, 2 powerful enough lights to light up the space or enough cameras to get 3 angles.

but we posted that first ep and I remember it couldn't even break over 100 downloads in the week.... we were all so ecstatic that we posted and that even a handful of rocks decided to toss it on while they were editing or on their way to work.

what started out as a podcast solely for videographers and photographers blossomed into this hub for business, entrepreneurship and founders.

To those of you that have been with us since those early days we want to say thank you for continuing to support us. we are well aware that the show has changed and have gotten some mean messages of people who were upset that we shifted.

as much as we would've loved to continue in photo video land we realized after year 2 to truly take this thing where we thought it could go we had to pivot.

we loved interviewing creatives and hope you can still enjoy what we're doing now. but the reality was the brands in the creative space wouldn't pay us to keep this thing running. brands did not understand what we were doing and thankfully our pivot allowed to us to get a broader guest on and attract brands with more spending power.

had we not had the brands supporting us the show would not exist. it's taken us 4 years to honestly feel like we're just getting this thing going. 4 years damn near every week of posting our little side project that eventually turned into consuming our whole lives.

It's still tough to get an ep out every week. I'd be lying to you if I said it was a well oiled machine at this point lol. We are still very much a work in progress but we are for damn sure progressing every single day. Our processes have gotten better and today as we post 200 I just giggle thinking about all the sh*t we've been through to get to this point.

Like when our pod with Gary vee was cancelled as we were boarding our flight and had to be moved to the day before and our plane cancelled simultaneously. we landed at 1 am in NYC and drank enough caffeine to put down an elephant. Made it happen and recorded one of favorite eps of the show.

Podcasting has taught me to roll with the punches. to not get to consumed on something working out because in life it's always working out for you. that mindset has served me well. It's allowed me to not get too high and not too low when sh*ts not going your way because in life it can feel like the world is out to get you.

especially when you get a streak of L's. It's so easy to say boo hoo poor me I can't do this.. why am I doing this? that's very easy to do.

What's hard to do is to show the F*ck back up because that's who YOU are. You show up when it's tough and you perform even when you don't feel your best.

There's been so many times where a guest has cancelled on us day of. So many times where it would have been much easier to say let's hang this up. 200 feels symbolic because we weathered the storm.

We went across the pacific and found land. found land with a group of rocks I wouldn't trade for the world.

I couldn't be more grateful for this community and just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. without you we have no show.

so thank you for being a rock. cheers to the next 200 eps of this thing!!

Also if you're bored today the new ep with Dan Martell is out now live on all platforms. Drop a rock emoji so I know you came from the newsletter.
